Dr Jon Russell led the Johns Hopkins Thyroid Tumor Center in Baltimore, MD and was one of the busiest thyroid and parathyroid surgeons in the United States. During that time, he treated the most aggressive thyroid cancers, trained young surgeons, perfected remote access "scarless" transoral thyroid surgery, led clinical trials of non-surgical therapies such as RFA, lectured internationally, and wrote hundreds of books, chapters, and scientific papers. Since leaving academic surgery, he has continued to focus on improving patient safety and outcomes by founding a concierge-level practice at the Russell Center.
